Jean-Marc Bustamante
 
Jean-Marc Bustamante was born in Toulouse, France in 1952. He lives and works in Paris. He studied economics and photography and worked briefly in film. He has been exhibiting his sculptures and photographs in Europe since the early 1980s. From 2015-18 he was Director of École des Beaux-Arts, Paris, France. Major solo exhibitions includes: Kunsthalle Berne (1989), Stedelijk Van Abbemuseum, Eindhoven (1992), Renaissance Society, Chicago (1993), the Kunstmuseum Wolfsburg (1994), the Musée d'Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris, Musée d'art moderne et contemporain, Strasbourg, France (2007) Henry Moore Institute, Leeds, Britain (2011). Bustamante represented France at the Venice Biennale in 2003 and participated in Documenta 8, 9, and 10. Jean-Marc Bustamante is represented in the collections of Musée d'art moderne de la Ville de Paris, Paris, France, Musée National d'Art Moderne, Paris, France, Museum of Modern Art Ludwig Foundation, (Mumok), Vienna, Austria, Museo Reina Sofia, Madrid, Spain and Metropolitan Museum, New York, NY, USA.
